MUMBAI, 13 Jan 2023, Qatar Airways Flight from Mumbai, India to Doha, Qatar declared an emergency shortly after takeoff from Mumbai International Airport (BOM).
The Qatar Airways flight included Boeing 777 Freighter aircraft. According to initial reports from our source at Mumbai airport, the Qatar airways Flight crew declared a Full emergency just after taking off.

Qatar Airways B777-FDZ, a cargo plane declared a Full emergency due to Landing gear related concerns. The flight is operated by the airline a weekly scheduled flight.
As per our source, the flight took off 30 mins late of actual time at 2:05 PM IST. Shortly after taking off the pilot was sure that there was some concern related to Landing gear and they declared a full Emergency.
Now according to flight Radar 24 data, the flight operated by Qatar Airways is QR8605 and has registration A7-BFF.
The aircraft was airborne for around 35 minutes to burn the fuel to safely land back. The aircraft safely landed at 2:40 PM IST back at Mumbai Airport. Boeing 777-FDZ A7-BFF is now grounded and under maintenance at Mumbai Airport.
This is not the first time that Qatar Airways Cargo has been involved in an Emergency situation.
Qatar Airways Incident on the Ground
On August 5, 2022, the incident happened as the plane with the registration A7-BFH was flying flight QR8141 from Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) to Chicago. The aircraft’s right wing collided with the pole as it was taxiing after touching down runway 10C.
Qatar Airways representative stated,
“Qatar Airways can confirm that a cargo aircraft, QR8141, operating from Atlanta to Chicago, came into touch with a light post while taxiing at Chicago O’Hare and received some wing damage.”

The plane is one of the safest and has successfully landed back in Mumbai. such incidents are rare and we are waiting for an official report by Qatar representatives.
