Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Saturday that once the trials in the United States and Canada are over, India will have urban air transportation in the shape of Electric Vehicles Take Off and Landing (EVTOL).
"EVTOLs are now being tested by the US Air Force and the Canadian Air Force. We'll try to get them to come here and set up their production bases as soon as they acquire Federal Aviation Administration (FAA-US) and other certificates "
According to the Union Minister
“We aim to have Urban Air Mobility in the shape of EVTOLs over the length and width of our country in the days to come, much like the robots we saw today,” he continued.

He went on to say that India is considering not only connecting overseas destinations to the domestic sector or from one metro to the next, but also last-mile connectivity.
The increase will not only come from metros, but also from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
As a result, we are working to establish a network of airports in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, as well as sea planes, waterdromes, and heliports, so that India may achieve overall last-mile connectivity Scindia explained.
