Tata Sons announced on Thursday that Campbell Wilson has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of Air India.
Wilson was previously the CEO of Scoot, a low-cost airline based in Singapore and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines.

“It is an honour to be chosen to manage Air India and to be a member of the prestigious Tata Group.
Air India is on the verge of becoming one of the world’s top airlines, providing world-class products and services with a unique customer experience that reflects Indian warmth and friendliness “Wilson explained.
Wilson previously worked with SIA in Canada, Hong Kong, and Japan before returning to Singapore in 2011 as the founding CEO of Scoot, which he headed until 2016, before returning to the role in April 2020.

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome Campbell to Air India.
He has extensive experience in the industry, having worked in key worldwide marketplaces across different functions.
In addition, his experience building an airline brand in Asia would benefit Air India. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Air India, said, “I look forward to working with him in developing a world-class airline.”
