Since its first post-pandemic recruiting campaign in August 2021, Emirates has received over 300,000 applications for cabin crew positions.
The airline intends to hire 6,000 additional employees in order to increase its operational workforce as travel demand continues to rebound faster than predicted.
A spokeswoman for Emirates confirmed to The National on April 28, 2022, that the airline had already received over 300,000 applications for the cabin crew vacancy. Emirates, the largest airline in the UAE, offers a monthly wage starting about $2,700.
According to the spokeswoman, Emirates Aviation College presently conducts instruction for approximately 120 new trainees each week.
“As we focus on recovery and further ramp up our operations,” a spokeswoman said.
“we are intensifying our recruiting drive with the goal of hiring about 6,000 cabin crew roles throughout this financial year, from April 2022 to March 2023“
Emirates indicated that it will be adding a number of other people, including pilots, engineering professionals, and ground staff members, while continuing to ramp up operations across its global network, having already recovered around 90% of its network by late October 2021.
Potential candidates must meet the UAE employment visa criteria and will be stationed in the airline’s main hub in Dubai, according to the official Emirates website. Candidates must also have “more than a year of experience in hospitability or customer services” and a high school diploma as a minimum requirement.
Aside from an extensive list of physical requirements, such as a minimum height requirement of 160 centimetres (about 5 feet 3 inches) and the need that applicants have no visible tattoos, a successful applicant must also be able to “handle a tough work schedule.”
