After their Cheetah helicopter crashed along the Line of Control or LoC in north Kashmir’s Gurez sector today, an army pilot was killed and his co-pilot was badly injured.
When the chopper crashed in the Tulial region of Gurez sector, it was on its way to pick up a paramilitary soldier and transport him to a hospital for treatment.

The wreckage of the crashed helicopter was discovered in the snow-covered Gujran Nallah area of Bandipora in North Kashmir “Srinagar’s Defence PRO issued a statement.
One of the pilots, Major Sankalp Yadav, died of his injuries at 92 Base Hospital. He was 29 years old at the time.Major Yadav, a citizen of Rajasthan’s Jaipur, was commissioned in 2015.

His father is the only one who has survived him.The second pilot is critically ill, but stable, and is currently in intensive care.
Officials said the cause of the incident was unknown at the time, and that the location where the tragedy occurred was fully snowed in.
