Delta Air Lines has stated that its codeshare arrangement with Russian airline Aeroflot would be terminated. Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the announcement was made on February 25, 2022.
“We have removed our code from Aeroflot-operated services beyond Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport, and Aeroflot’s code has been removed from Delta-operated services from Los Angeles and New York-JFK.”
Delta Air Lines said in a statement that "accommodations will be made for customers affected by these changes."
The airline also stated that flights to Ukraine and Russia are not available. Many companies are abandoning their support for Russia, including Delta Air Lines.
All Russian-owned, registered, and controlled aircraft have been barred from entering the EU, the United Kingdom, and Canada’s airspace.
The SkyTeam partnership includes both Delta Air Lines and Aeroflot. The airline alliance said it is “in communication with all our members to assess the situation as it evolves” and is actively monitoring events in Ukraine.
