RUSSIA- The flag carrier of Russia, Aeroflot (SU) Boeing 777, originating from Moscow, executed an emergency landing at the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport, as reported by the Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Sakhalin Region.
“In the morning of December 1, we received information that an Aeroflot Boeing 777 aircraft, which departed from Moscow, was preparing for an emergency landing at the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport,” the statement conveyed.

The aircraft successfully landed at the city’s air harbour at 9:34 a.m. (1:34 a.m. Moscow time) without any incident.
As per the press service of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport, the incident involved a Boeing 777. Technicians have identified and are currently addressing the technical issue.
Aeroflot emphasized that the landing proceeded smoothly, adhering to safety protocols. The electronic display at the air harbour indicates that the return flight from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to Moscow is scheduled for Friday at 17:00 (9:00 Moscow time).
The report notes, “The Boeing 777 had a total of 14 crew members and 408 passengers on board. After landing, the aircraft autonomously vacated the runway using the taxiway and was subsequently towed to the parking area.”
