MONTREAL- Emirates (EK), one of the world’s leading airlines, has successfully launched its inaugural passenger flight from Dubai to Montreal, making it its first entry into Quebec’s cultural capital and its second gateway in Canada.
Departing at 0300hrs, Emirates flight EK243 carried 340 passengers, including a VIP delegation and members of the media.

Emirates First Dubai to Montreal flight Takes off
Enhancing their presence in North America, the daily service to Montreal is a valuable addition to Emirates’ existing seven weekly flights to Toronto, bringing their total North American network to 14 destinations and a remarkable 18 across the entire Americas.
This new service allows travelers from various points, such as Lebanon, India, Iran, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and South Africa, to connect to Canada via Dubai.
Meeting the demands of diverse demographics, including business and leisure travelers and visiting family and friends, this direct route between Dubai and Montreal is expected to be a popular choice.
Notably, it will attract Canadians living and working in the UAE. Additionally, with Montreal housing several prestigious universities, the route will likely witness significant traffic from students hailing from the Middle East, West, Central Asia, and the Far East.
Executive Insights
Executives from Emirates, including Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer; Salem Obaidalla, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, Americas; and David Broz, Vice President of Aeropolitical and Industry Affairs, were present on the inaugural flight.
The delegation bid farewell to HE Radha Krishna Panday, the Ambassador of Canada to the UAE. He graced the airport with their presence.
Captain Talal Al Hammadi (UAE National) and Captain David Reny (Canadian) led the historic journey to Montreal. Further, First Officer Omar Alhammadi (UAE National) and First Officer Veljko Veljovic (Canadian) are also present.
Subsequently, Emirates will deploy its three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to serve this route. The plane boasts eight luxurious private suites in First Class and 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class. Further, over 300 spacious seats in Economy Class for daily service.
