American Airlines (AA) pilots declared a Mayday emergency after experiencing smoke in the cockpit shortly after departing Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) on April 28, 2025.

American Airlines Flight 1629, a Boeing 737 from Dallas, landed at Washington Airport, where the pilot failed to follow taxiing instructions.
