DUBAI- Emirates (EK) and flydubai (FZ) have launched a limited-time Emirates Skywards promotion that awards one bonus mile for every minute spent in Dubai, home to Dubai International Airport (DXB).
Bookings must be completed between October 21 and November 5, 2026, for qualifying travel between October 21 and December 13, 2026. Members must register, and the maximum bonus is capped at 7,200 miles.

How Emirates’ Dubai Mile-a-Minute Promotion Works
Emirates Skywards is offering members a mileage incentive to visit Dubai, whether as a holiday destination or an extended stopover.
The promotion calculates bonus miles using the scheduled arrival and departure times shown on the ticket, making the length of the Dubai stay central to the reward.
The offer can suit travelers who want to break up a longer journey. For example, a passenger flying from New York to Dubai and then continuing to Delhi could qualify with a sufficiently long stopover.
A round trip from New York to Dubai and back can also qualify, provided the itinerary meets the promotion’s requirements.
The offer has 2 separate validity periods:
| Requirement | Eligible Dates |
|---|---|
| Booking and ticket issuance | October 21 to November 5, 2026 |
| Travel period | October 21 to December 13, 2026 |
| Registration deadline | November 5, 2026, by 11:59 p.m. Dubai time |
| Minimum Dubai stay | 24 hours |
| Maximum Dubai stay | 30 days |
Members must complete both their ticket issuance and registration within the required booking window. They must also begin and complete the qualifying journey within the stated travel period. All deadlines follow Dubai local time.
Who Can Participate?
The promotion is open to existing Emirates Skywards members and people who enroll in the program by the registration deadline. However, UAE residents are excluded, according to the member’s Emirates Skywards profile.
Registration is compulsory and must be completed by November 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Dubai time. Members can register through an email link, the Emirates website or app, flydubai’s website, or Emirates retail and call centers.
Skywards Skysurfers can participate with parental or guardian consent, but the parent or guardian must complete registration through Emirates retail or call centers.
Eligible Airlines, Tickets and Fares
The promotion covers qualifying flights marketed by Emirates or flydubai and operated by either airline. The ticket must satisfy the program’s normal Skywards mileage-earning requirements, and one-way tickets are excluded.
Eligible Emirates fares include Special, Saver, Flex and Flex Plus across Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class. Eligible flydubai fares include Lite, Value and Flex in Economy Class, as well as Business Class fares.
Tickets must meet the applicable ticketing rules. Eligible ticket prefixes are 176 for Emirates and 141 or 169 for flydubai; tickets with booking receipts issued directly through flydubai.com can also qualify.
Eligible purchases can be made through the airlines’ websites and apps, Emirates retail and call centers, or a travel agent.
Other codeshare and interline flights are excluded. Tickets issued in the UAE or originating in the UAE do not qualify, and the journey must begin outside the country. Award tickets are also ineligible because they do not meet the required standard mileage-accrual conditions.

How Many Skywards Miles Can Travelers Earn?
The promotion awards one bonus Skywards mile per minute of qualifying time in Dubai. The calculation produces the following figures before applying the promotional cap.
| Qualifying Stay | Calculated Bonus Miles |
|---|---|
| 24 hours | 1,440 |
| 2 days | 2,880 |
| 3 days | 4,320 |
| 4 days | 5,760 |
| 5 days | 7,200 |
| 7 days | 10,080 |
| 30 days | 43,200 |
The figures for seven and 30 days represent the theoretical mileage totals before the cap. The maximum actual award is 7,200 bonus miles per member, so members reach the limit after five days in Dubai.
This cap is the promotion’s main limitation. Although the rules permit a stay of up to 30 days, remaining in Dubai beyond 5 days does not generate additional bonus miles under this offer.

When Are Bonus Miles Credited?
The bonus is credited once per member during the promotion and applies only to the member’s first qualifying stay in Dubai.
Emirates states that the miles will be credited within 30 days of completing the Dubai stay.
Members can check their mileage statements through the Emirates app, emirates.com or flydubai.com.
An additional limitation applies when a member qualifies for another mileage promotion. If multiple offers apply, Emirates Skywards will credit only the higher eligible bonus rather than combining the promotional awards.

Why Emirates Is Encouraging Longer Dubai Stays
The promotion gives travelers a direct mileage incentive to spend more time in Dubai rather than treating the city solely as a connecting point. It also fits Emirates’ broader commercial role in supporting visitor traffic through its Dubai hub and the UAE’s tourism economy.
Emirates offers another visitor benefit through My Emirates Pass, which provides discounts and special offers at participating shopping, dining, wellness and experience partners across the UAE. Travelers can use their eligible Emirates boarding pass to access these offers.
The mile-a-minute promotion creates an additional reason for eligible passengers to consider a stopover.
However, the 5 day cap means that extending a stay purely for miles offers diminishing value once the maximum bonus has been reached.

Travel Advisory Considerations for UAE
The promotion should be evaluated separately from the decision to travel. At the time of writing, the US Department of State lists the United Arab Emirates under a Level 3: Reconsider Travel advisory, issued on August 29, 2026, citing terrorism and armed conflict.
Its guidance also notes threats involving drone and missile attacks and significant commercial-flight disruptions.
Travelers should review the latest official travel guidance, airline operational updates, entry requirements, and personal circumstances before booking.
The mileage incentive does not change the risks or practical considerations associated with visiting the UAE.

Emirates Skywards Promotion
Emirates’ mile-a-minute promotion offers a straightforward way to earn bonus Skywards miles from a qualifying stay in Dubai. Eligible members receive one mile per minute, up to a maximum of 7,200 miles after 5 days.
The offer applies to qualifying round-trip tickets issued within the booking window, with travel completed by December 13, 2026.
Registration is mandatory, UAE residents are excluded, and specific fare, ticketing and flight-marketing conditions apply.
For travelers already considering Dubai as a destination or stopover, the offer can add a useful loyalty benefit. However, the mileage cap and current travel advisory should remain part of the booking decision.
