CAIRO- An EgyptAir (MS) pilot reportedly posted a video of an El Al (LY) aircraft on October 7, 2026, accompanied by an audio recording of former Egyptian president Anwar Sadat making a statement about retaliation and violence.
The footage, reportedly filmed at an airport in Italy, has drawn attention because of its timing and the message attached to it.
Israeli military correspondent Itay Blumental identified the pilot as Osama Mansour, according to reporting on the social-media post.
The video appeared on an Instagram account identified as @osapilot, whose caption reportedly tagged EgyptAir and included the phrase “A surprise entrance disrupts the course of events,” alongside Egyptian flag and flexed-biceps emojis.

EgyptAir Pilot Video
The video features an El Al aircraft, Israel’s national airline, with a recording attributed to Sadat saying, “An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and violence for violence.”
The message has attracted scrutiny because it was posted on October 7, the anniversary of the Hamas-led attacks on Israel in 2023.
The available account of the post does not establish whether Mansour intended the recording as a political statement, a historical reference, or a direct expression of hostility towards the Israeli airline.
The video’s wording and timing have nevertheless prompted attention, particularly amid heightened scrutiny of aviation personnel’s public statements and online activity.
The post reportedly identifies the footage as having been recorded at an airport in Italy, but the specific airport has not been established in the available information. It is also unclear whether EgyptAir has opened an internal review or taken any action concerning the pilot.

Sadat And October 7
Sadat led Egypt during the 1973 Arab-Israeli War, which began on October 6, and later pursued negotiations that resulted in the 1979 Egypt-Israel peace treaty.
His appearance in the recording therefore carries historical significance, although the clip alone does not establish the poster’s intended interpretation.
The anniversary of the October 7, 2023, attacks has become a particularly sensitive date in discussions of the Israel-Gaza conflict.
Pairing a recording about retaliation with footage of an El Al aircraft has consequently drawn attention beyond the video’s aviation setting.
However, the distinction between the historical recording and the poster’s own views remains important.
The available information does not establish whether the pilot made any further statements explaining the video or its intended meaning.

Flydubai Incident Context
The post also emerged shortly after a serious incident involving flydubai (FZ) flight FZ1073, which was travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv on September 30, 2026.
The aircraft diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after the co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain in the cockpit, triggering a rapid descent and an emergency response.
Passengers and other pilots aboard the flight helped subdue the co-pilot, allowing a reserve crew to land the aircraft safely.
Authorities have been investigating the incident, including its circumstances and possible motives, while public reporting has raised questions about pilot screening and aviation security.
The two incidents are separate, and no evidence in the available reporting establishes a connection between Mansour’s social-media post and the flydubai cockpit attack.
The EgyptAir video has instead renewed attention to how airline employees use social media, particularly when posts involve another country’s airline and potentially inflammatory political messages.
