ST. LOUIS- St. Louis will gain more nonstop access to London next summer as British Airways (BA) expands its seasonal service from St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) to London Heathrow Airport (LHR).
The airline will operate daily flights during two peak periods in Summer 2027, giving passengers more options for travel between Missouri and the United Kingdom.
The expanded schedule will add more than 35,400 seats between St. Louis and London compared with Summer 2026, representing an 80% increase in total capacity.
British Airways will use its Boeing 787 fleet on the route, which launched in April 2026 with four weekly flights.
British Airways Flight Schedule Details
British Airways will begin the 2027 seasonal schedule with five flights per week from March 28.
The service will then increase to seven flights per week from April 19 through June 28, covering the busy spring and early summer travel period.
Daily operations will return from September 6 through October 30, providing another extended period of higher frequency.
Outside these two daily-service windows, British Airways will maintain five flights per week for the remainder of the seasonal schedule.
The schedule gives travelers greater flexibility when planning trips between St. Louis and London, while also creating additional options for passengers connecting beyond Heathrow.
London Heathrow serves as a major hub for British Airways, allowing travelers to continue to destinations across Europe and other international markets.
Route Capacity Increases For Summer
The capacity increase comes only months after British Airways introduced the St. Louis-London route.
The inaugural service operated on April 19, 2026, making St. Louis the airline’s 27th U.S. gateway and restoring a nonstop connection between the two cities after a gap of more than two decades.
British Airways is currently the only U.K. airline offering nonstop flights between St. Louis and London. The route gives passengers in the St. Louis region direct access to the British capital without requiring a connection at another U.S. airport.
The additional flights will also provide more seats for travelers visiting Missouri from the United Kingdom and other international markets.
Local tourism organizations expect the increased international connectivity to support visitor activity across hotels, restaurants, attractions, retailers and cultural institutions.
St. Louis Gains More Global Connectivity
The route expansion strengthens St. Louis’ international air network while giving British Airways a larger presence in the U.S. market.
The airline said the increased schedule will provide customers with greater choice and flexibility while strengthening connections to London, Europe and its wider global network of more than 200 destinations.
For leisure travelers, the daily schedule can offer more departure-date options during the peak periods.
The additional capacity can also support business travelers, tour operators and meeting planners seeking more flexibility when organizing international trips.
The St. Louis-London service will remain seasonal, with five weekly flights operating outside the two daily-service periods, STLPR reported.
British Airways’ decision to increase frequency so soon after the route’s launch marks a significant expansion of the new transatlantic connection ahead of Summer 2027.
