MONTREAL- Air Canada (AC), the country’s largest airline and flag carrier, has opened a new long-haul route from Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). The airline now operates direct flights between the German capital region and Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL).
The route operates three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Through the Montréal hub, travellers gain access to connecting flights across Canada, North America, and destinations beyond, strengthening the capital region’s appeal for visitors from Canada.

Air Canada Connects Berlin and Montréal Directly
The new service links Berlin to Montréal with three weekly rotations. Passengers departing from BER can reach numerous onward destinations via the Montréal hub, which expands travel options for people in the capital region.
The route opens additional travel opportunities for the region while positioning it as an attractive destination for North American visitors. Air Canada operates the connection during the summer season, with the current summer schedule running until 6 September.
Flights for summer 2027 are already available to book. During the upcoming summer season, Air Canada will increase frequency to as many as four times a week, operating from early June to mid-October.

Airbus A321 XLR Enters Service on the Route
The inaugural flight departed BER for Canada on a Boeing 787-8. From 19 July, Air Canada will deploy the modern Airbus A321 XLR (Extra Long Range) on the route. This marks the first time the aircraft type serves a regular long-haul route to Germany.
The A321 XLR seats 182 passengers, with 14 seats in Business Class and 168 in Economy Class.
The flight time from BER is 8 hours and 40 minutes, while the return journey is one hour faster.

BER to Montréal Flight Schedule at a Glance
The outbound service departs BER on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 11:40 a.m. and arrives at YUL at 1:45 p.m.
The return service departs YUL on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. and arrives at BER at 10:15 a.m. the following day.
