DALLAS— Southwest Airlines (WN) and Singapore Airlines (SQ) have signed an interline partnership that lets travelers book single-ticket journeys to and from the United States across both networks. Southwest executives announced the agreement at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting in Brazil.
The deal connects Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) to three United States gateways served by Southwest, namely Los Angeles (LAX), Seattle/Tacoma (SEA), and San Francisco (SFO). From these airports, international passengers can now connect to nearly 120 destinations across the Southwest network.

How the Southwest and Singapore Airlines Interline Works
The partnership allows passengers to buy one ticket covering travel on both carriers. Bookings are available through Singapore Airlines, travel agents, and travel websites. The SIA Group, which includes Singapore Airlines and low-cost carrier Scoot, operates flights to more than 130 destinations across 35 countries and territories, all linked through its hub at Changi Airport.
At the three shared US gateways, the agreement opens Southwest’s domestic reach to global travelers arriving from Singapore. Southwest connects to nearly 120 airports beyond LAX, SEA, and SFO, giving Singapore Airlines customers access to cities the carrier does not serve directly.
Singapore Airlines becomes the eighth overseas carrier in Southwest’s partnership portfolio. The other agreements link Southwest’s network to destinations across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

What Southwest Leadership Said
Andrew Watterson, Chief Operating Officer at Southwest Airlines, said Singapore Airlines reflects the quality and reach Southwest looks for in a partner.
He noted that these carriers are opening Southwest’s network to a wider global audience drawn to its improved onboard product.
Watterson added that pairing Southwest and Singapore Airlines connects new geographies while delivering consistent, high-quality customer experiences.

Southwest Onboard Upgrades and Network Growth
Southwest has rolled out several product changes during the year, including assigned seating, optional Extra Legroom seats, and enhanced boarding.
Customers in Extra Legroom seats receive a premium snack on flights of 301 miles or more and complimentary premium drinks on flights of 251 miles or more.
The carrier has also expanded its map in 2026 with service at five new airports. These include St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, Sint Maarten, Santa Rosa/Sonoma County in California, Knoxville in Tennessee, and Anchorage in Alaska.

About the Two Carriers
Southwest Airlines operates at 122 airports across 12 countries. The airline began flying in 1971 with a low-cost model and now carries more nonstop domestic travelers within the United States than any other carrier. It employs more than 73,000 people and carried over 134 million customers in 2025.
Singapore Airlines traces its history to the 1947 maiden flight of Malayan Airways. The carrier later became Malaysia-Singapore Airlines before splitting into Singapore Airlines and Malaysian Airlines System in 1972.
The airline built its brand around service excellence, product leadership, and network connectivity, and ranks among the most awarded carriers in the world.
