EVA Air New Taipei to Washington D.C. Flights
North America remains a core strategic market for EVA Air. According to the Bangkok Post, the airline continues to prioritize long-haul expansion across the United States.
Following the launch of Dallas-Fort Worth last year, EVA Air became the only Asian carrier serving two destinations in Texas.
EVA Air President Clay Sun stated that the Washington, D.C. launch strengthens the airline’s presence on the US East Coast and enhances service to one of the country’s most influential markets.
The region serves as the political center of the United States and hosts a high concentration of multinational corporations and global enterprises.
He added that the new route improves flexibility, efficiency, and comfort for passengers while reinforcing the airline’s North American network.
EVA Air now operates nonstop services to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Houston, Dallas Fort Worth, Chicago, Vancouver, Toronto, and Washington, D.C.
The Taipei–Washington service will operate with a Boeing 787-9 in a three-class configuration: Royal Laurel Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class.

Washington, D.C. Market Importance
Washington, D.C., ranks as the seventh largest metropolitan area in the United States and forms part of the broader National Capital Region, one of the 3 largest population centers in the country.
The region maintains a robust population base with a high concentration of top-tier talent and high-net-worth individuals.
As the US capital, the city hosts multinational corporations, non-governmental organizations, diplomatic missions, and international institutions.
This environment supports strong premium travel demand. Washington, D.C. also attracts academic and leisure travelers through its historic landmarks and world renowned Smithsonian museums.
Chryssa Westerlund, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, welcomed the new service.
She stated that the nonstop route significantly reduces travel times between Taipei and Washington, D.C.
She also noted that the flight will generate an estimated US$61 million in annual economic impact for the National Capital Region and further strengthen Washington Dulles International Airport’s role as the international gateway to the US capital.
