NADI- Fiji Airways (FJ) has announced a significant expansion of its Australia network with the launch of new nonstop services linking the Gold Coast Airport (OOL) and Nadi International Airport (NAN). The carrier confirmed the route on December 18, with inaugural flights scheduled to begin on June 11, 2026.
The new service strengthens direct connectivity between Australia’s Gold Coast and Fiji, adding a faster option for leisure, visiting friends and relatives, and business travel. Fiji Airways said the route will operate three times weekly using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the Australian market.

Fiji Airways Gold Coast Flights
The Gold Coast–Nadi service will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, offering a flight time of just over three hours.
According to the airline, the route will inject approximately 53,000 additional seats into the market each year, increasing capacity and travel choice between the two destinations.
Flights will depart Nadi in the morning and return from the Gold Coast around midday, allowing convenient onward connections through Fiji Airways’ network.
The schedule also enables smooth transfers at Nadi for travelers heading to North America and other Pacific destinations.
Fiji Airways stated that the Gold Coast would become its seventh destination in Australia. The route also marks the fourth market where the airline replaces previous one-stop journeys with direct flights, giving it a competitive advantage as demand for leisure travel continues to rise.

Aircraft And Fares
The route will be served by the Boeing 737 MAX 8, part of Fiji Airways’ modernized narrowbody fleet. The aircraft offers improved fuel efficiency, extended range, and a cabin designed for passenger comfort on medium-haul sectors.
To mark the launch, the airline has introduced special return Lite Economy fares starting from FJD 799 for travel between Nadi and the Gold Coast.
These introductory fares are available for sale until December 31, 2025, for travel between June 11 and November 30, 2026, subject to availability and conditions.
Fiji Airways said tickets can be booked directly through its official website or via authorized travel agents.
The promotional pricing is expected to stimulate early demand and encourage travelers to plan ahead for the new route.

Tourism And Economic Impact
Airline and tourism officials believe the new service will deliver strong economic and tourism benefits on both sides of the Pacific.
The Gold Coast is one of Australia’s leading leisure destinations and a growing hub for business events, film production, and international tourism.
Queensland authorities estimate the route will contribute tens of millions of dollars annually to the regional economy while supporting more than 100 direct jobs. Improved access is also expected to benefit local hotels, hospitality businesses, and tourism operators across Southeast Queensland.
For Fiji, the route strengthens outbound travel options while positioning Nadi as a strategic gateway linking Australia with North America.
The service aligns with broader infrastructure growth in Queensland ahead of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games, which is expected to further boost inbound demand.

Bottom Line
The launch of direct Gold Coast–Nadi flights marks a strategic expansion for Fiji Airways and a major connectivity upgrade for the Gold Coast.
With modern aircraft, competitive fares, and strong tourism support, the route is set to enhance travel choice while deepening economic and cultural ties between Fiji and Australia.
