DUBAI- World’s busiest international Airport, Dubai Airport (DXB), recorded its highest quarterly traffic in its 65-year history during the third quarter of 2025 as it welcomed 24.2 million guests between July and September – a 1.9% increase compared to the same period last year.
The strong quarterly numbers pushed DXB’s nine-month total to 70.1 million guests, showing a year-on-year growth of 2.1%. Dubai International Airport continues to strengthen its operational footprint as aircraft movements rose sharply, supporting the emirate’s long-term passenger connectivity plans.

Dubai Airport Sets New Traffic Record
DXB recorded 115,000 flights in the third quarter alone, demonstrating strong demand and operational stability. Across the first nine months of the year, DXB handled 336,000 aircraft movements, reflecting a 2.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
The average number of passengers per aircraft reached 213 at the end of September, underlining efficient airline scheduling and capacity management.
DXB’s twelve-month rolling traffic also hit a record 93.8 million guests, further strengthening its position as the world’s busiest airport for international travel.

Operational and Infrastructure Upgrades
Dubai Airports continues to enhance guest experience through major upgrades across all terminals. Several future-focused projects are currently underway, including CB Central in Terminal 3, which will highlight leading Dubai brands and immersive experiences designed for international travellers.
Complementing this development, CB East will offer family-friendly spaces with dining and entertainment, while CB West will provide premium shopping and casual dining options.
Terminal 1 is also undergoing a major refresh with CD Central, designed with panoramic airfield views, upgraded dwell areas, and enhanced passenger information systems. These upgrades support DXB’s long-term strategy of delivering seamless and intuitive travel experiences.
Dubai Airports is also accelerating preparations for Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC), which will become the city’s primary international gateway in the early 2030s.
The next-generation airport is being purpose-built to maximize efficiency, connectivity, and sustainability while supporting future global traffic growth.

Dubai Airport’s Market Performance
DXB remained a key hub for international tourism and business travel in the first nine months of the year.
India led the country markets with 8.8 million passengers, followed by Saudi Arabia at 5.5 million and the United Kingdom at 4.6 million. Pakistan and the United States registered 3.2 million and 2.4 million passengers, respectively.
Among major city routes, London topped the list with 2.8 million guests, followed by Riyadh with 2.3 million, Mumbai with 1.8 million, Jeddah with 1.7 million, and New Delhi with 1.6 million.
The airport continued to perform strongly in outbound tourism as well. Popular leisure destinations included Malaysia with 687,000 passengers, Vietnam with 493,000, and the Czech Republic with 341,000.
DXB also delivered record baggage performance. The airport processed 63.8 million bags in the first nine months, an increase of 6.2% year-on-year.
Of these, 90% were delivered to passengers within 45 minutes. Baggage accuracy remained at 99.9%, amounting to only two mishandled bags per 1,000 guests.
During the third quarter, DXB maintained industry-leading efficiency levels, with 99.6% of departing travellers clearing passport control in under 10 minutes.
Arrival processing also remained fast, with 99.8% of guests completing the process in less than 15 minutes. Security checks stayed under five minutes for 99.7% of passengers.
