DELHI- Tata Group-owned Air India (AI), headquartered in Gurugram, has announced new interline agreements with airBaltic (BT), Bulgaria Air (FB), Cyprus Airways (CY), and Uzbekistan Airways (HY), expanding its reach into Europe and Central Asia through major gateway cities such as Amsterdam (AMS), Paris (CDG), and Tashkent (TAS).
Simultaneously, Air India has signed strategic codeshare partnerships with Icelandair (FI) and Air Mauritius (MK), enhancing seamless connectivity between India and destinations in Iceland, Southern Africa, and the Indian Ocean region.
Air India Interline Agreements
Air India’s latest interline partnerships come during the 81st IATA Annual General Meeting in New Delhi, aiming to bridge India with secondary cities in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Baltic region.
These agreements allow travelers to book single-ticket itineraries, benefit from unified baggage policies, and enjoy smooth connections between Air India and its partner airlines.
Partner Highlights:
- airBaltic (BT): Offers access to Riga (RIX), Tallinn (TLL), and Vilnius (VNO) via Air India’s European hubs, including Frankfurt (FRA), London Gatwick (LGW), and Dubai (DXB).
- Bulgaria Air (FB): Connects passengers to Sofia (SOF) through London Heathrow (LHR), Milan (MXP), and Tel Aviv (TLV), with onward options to Varna and Burgas.
- Cyprus Airways (CY): Enables access to Larnaca (LCA) through Paris (CDG), Milan (MXP), and Dubai (DXB), opening travel to Cyprus’s economic hub.
- Uzbekistan Airways (HY): Connects Delhi (DEL), Mumbai (BOM), and Goa-Mopa (GOX) with Tashkent (TAS), and offers domestic links to cities like Samarkand and Bukhara.
These agreements not only enhance outbound access for Indian travelers but also open inbound routes to over 30 Indian cities—including Bengaluru (BLR), Chennai (MAA), and Kochi (COK)—for passengers from Europe and Central Asia.

Codeshare with Icelandair
Air India and Icelandair have launched a codeshare partnership that will improve connectivity between India and Iceland through key European hubs. This agreement allows travelers to access Reykjavik (KEF) via connecting flights through Frankfurt (FRA), Copenhagen (CPH), and London (LHR, LGW).
Key Codeshare Details:
- Air India (AI) places its code on Icelandair-operated flights across major European cities connecting to Reykjavik.
- Icelandair (FI) places its code on Air India-operated flights linking Delhi (DEL) and Mumbai (BOM) with Europe.
Passengers benefit from optimized schedules, unified baggage handling, and smooth transfers, strengthening tourism and trade ties between the two countries.
Air Mauritius Partnership
Air India has expanded its long-standing codeshare with Air Mauritius (MK) to include destinations in South Africa and Madagascar, alongside improved access across India.
Codeshare Expansion Highlights:
- Air India places its ‘AI’ code on Air Mauritius flights to Cape Town (CPT), Johannesburg (JNB), and Antananarivo (TNR) via Mauritius (MRU).
- Air Mauritius adds its ‘MK’ code on more Air India domestic routes, including Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), and Chennai (MAA).
