Historical Significance
The Boeing 747 VT-ESO represents an important part of aviation history for Air India. The aircraft is being auctioned under Forward Auction number M/30210320, with Air India Ltd-Mumbai listed as the seller.
The material loading responsibilities fall under the customer’s scope, and applicable GST and other charges will be determined at the time of dispatch.
This particular Boeing 747 model has served Air India for over three decades, representing the iconic “Jumbo Jet” era of commercial aviation.
The 747 aircraft were once the flagship of Air India’s fleet, operating on prestigious international routes and serving as a symbol of the airline’s global presence.
Auction Process and Delivery Logistics
The auction will follow an “ENGLISH NO TIES AUCTION” strategy with a minimum duration of 60 minutes. Auto extension is set at 3 minutes, allowing bidders additional time if bids are placed near the closing time.
Following successful bidding, the buyer will be responsible for arranging the loading and lifting of the aircraft components.
The physical inspection restrictions are notably strict – bidders will not be permitted to physically inspect the material after completion of the auction process. Additionally, photography of aircraft or other assets is not allowed during the physical inspection at the airport.
The delivery timeline of 60 calendar days provides the successful bidder with a reasonable window to arrange for logistics and transportation of this massive aircraft or its components.
The auction represents a rare opportunity for aviation enthusiasts, museums, or companies specializing in aircraft recycling to acquire a piece of Air India’s history.
