FLORIDA- Spirit Airlines (NK) announced its strategic expansion into Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA), introducing three new nonstop routes starting June 4, 2025.
The carrier will connect the Scenic City with three key destinations: Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), and Orlando International Airport (MCO).
Spirit Airlines Chattanooga Routes
The airline will deploy its signature bright yellow aircraft to serve these routes, offering travelers unprecedented direct connectivity from Chattanooga. John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines, emphasized the significance of this network expansion, highlighting Chattanooga’s unique appeal as a destination characterized by southern charm and diverse outdoor experiences.
Spirit Airlines will launch a comprehensive flight schedule targeting summer travelers:
- Fort Lauderdale (FLL): 3 weekly flights, introductory fares starting at $50 one-way
- Newark (EWR): 4 weekly flights, introductory fares starting at $50 one-way
- Orlando (MCO): 4 weekly flights, introductory fares starting at $50 one-way
April Cameron, President and CEO of Chattanooga Airport, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, underscoring the strategic value these routes bring to the local community. The new connections will provide passengers with extensive travel options and enhance regional accessibility.
This expansion represents Spirit Airlines’ continued commitment to the Tennessee market. The carrier previously established operations in Nashville in 2019 and Memphis in 2022, with Chattanooga marking its third significant Tennessee destination.
Three New Routes from Columbia
Spirit Airlines also announced its strategic expansion into Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE), introducing three critical nonstop routes beginning June 5, 2025.
The carrier will establish direct flights connecting Columbia with Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), and Orlando International Airport (MCO), providing travelers unprecedented access to key leisure destinations.
Spirit Airlines will deploy its all-Airbus fleet to serve the following routes:
Fort Lauderdale (FLL): 3 weekly flights, launching June 6, 2025 Newark (EWR): 4 weekly flights, launching June 5, 2025 Orlando (MCO): 3 weekly flights, launching June 5, 2025
Introductory one-way fares start at $50, available for booking from March 5 through March 20, 2025, with travel permitted from June 5 through August 12, 2025. Passengers must complete bookings at least 14 days in advance and navigate specific travel restrictions, including blackout dates from July 2 through July 7, 2025.
