LONDON- UK-based carrier British Airways (BA) increases London Heathrow (LHR) to Nashville (BNA) flights from seven to ten weekly services between August 6 and September 10, 2025.
Iberia suspends its Washington Dulles (IAD) to Madrid (MAD) service for January, February, and early March 2025, leaving the route unserved during Q1.
British Airways Nashville Flights
British Airways adds second daily flights on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
The timing aligns with Icelandair’s (FI) first summer season in Nashville, suggesting competitive positioning by British Airways.
The short-duration expansion might utilize available aircraft and slots after peak summer travel.
British Airways currently serves more than 25 destinations in the United States.
Iberia Cuts Washington
Iberia (IB) made this decision despite using the fuel-efficient A321neo XLR aircraft, Enilria reported
The route suspension continues a pattern from Q1 2024 when no airline served this market. The A321neo XLR’s smaller capacity failed to make winter operations viable, contradicting expectations for the aircraft’s year-round route sustainability.
United Airlines has already suspended its IAD-MAD service through late March 2025. Flight data shows zero daily flights for January 2025, increasing to 1.8 daily flights with 394 seats by April 2025.
This development follows PLAY Airlines (OG) challenges in the Washington IAD market, highlighting winter season difficulties for transatlantic carriers at Dulles.
As of December 2024, British Airways (Oneworld) operates flights to 12 domestic destinations and 202 international destinations across 79 countries.
