ATLANTA- The Flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabian Airlines, or Saudia (SV) may launch new flights to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) next year.
According to a report by the Airport Slot Coordinator, ACL, an unidentified airline has requested to operate a Jeddah (JED) to Atlanta flight in the Summer of 2025.
Saudia Atlanta Flights
The rumor is also reported by a reputed independent analyst, Ishrion Aviation. He wrote, “Delta Air Lines didn’t apply for slots, so it must be Saudia.”
As per the slots data, Saudia might launch five weekly flights between Jeddah and Atlanta with Boeing 777.
This coincides with the codeshare partnership Delta and Saudia announced in October 2024. Codeshare helps strengthen their partnership and enhance travel options between North America and the Arabian Peninsula.
The agreement allows Saudia guests access to 12 additional destinations in the United States, connecting beyond Delta’s hubs at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). In turn, Delta customers gain access to nine destinations in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, extending their reach beyond Jeddah and Riyadh.
However, there was not a direct connection to the carriers’ main hub i.e. Atlanta and Jeddah.
Arved Von Zur Muehlen, Chief Commercial Officer at Saudia at the time of signing the codeshare deal said,
While Perry Cantarutti, Senior Vice President of Alliances at Delta added,
Current US Connections
According to Cirium data as flagged by Simple Flying, Saudia plans to operate 17 weekly flights to the United States during the next summer season, excluding the rumored Atlanta route. These flights will connect major cities in Saudi Arabia to key destinations in the U.S., strengthening the airline’s transcontinental network.
Saudia will fly from Jeddah (JED) to Washington D.C. (IAD), New York (JFK), and Los Angeles (LAX). Riyadh (RUH) will also serve as a departure point for routes to Washington D.C. (IAD) and New York (JFK).
The airline will deploy its Boeing 777 aircraft on all U.S. routes, ensuring consistency in service quality and capacity.
