FORT WORTH- American Airlines (AA) will expand its Italy service for the summer of 2025, offering the most flights to Italy in its history.
Starting in May 2025, American will increase flights to Rome (FCO), Naples (NAP), and Venice (VCE) to meet growing demand.
American Airlines New Routes
“American is committed to making it easier for customers to explore Italy’s iconic destinations,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning. “From Rome’s historical sites to the beaches of the Mediterranean, our expanded network will provide even more options for customers to plan their ideal summer itinerary.”
In addition to this expanded service, American will be the only U.S. airline offering nonstop flights from Chicago (ORD) to Naples, with the most seats to NAP among U.S. carriers. This route connects travelers to the renowned cuisine, historical sites, and coastal scenery of the Amalfi Coast.
American’s first-ever nonstop route from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Venice will launch on June 5, supplementing existing service from Philadelphia (PHL) and offering one-stop connections from over 230 North American destinations.
Rome will also see increased service, with expanded flights from Miami (MIA) and Philadelphia. American’s MIA-FCO service will now begin in June instead of July, and an additional daily summer flight from PHL to FCO will give travelers more schedule options.
American will operate more flights from FCO to U.S. destinations than any other American airline, offering extensive scheduling flexibility.
Expanded Italy Route Schedule:
Departure | Arrival | Start Date | The second daily service begins June 5 |
---|---|---|---|
Chicago (ORD) | Naples (NAP) | Daily service begins May 6 | Boeing 787-8 |
Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) | Venice (VCE) | Daily service begins June 5 | Boeing 787-8 |

More Flights to Other European Cities
American Airlines, in partnership with its joint business partners, will provide expanded options for European travel in 2025.
This includes additional daily flights from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Miami (MIA) to London Heathrow (LHR), and a new route between Chicago (ORD) and Madrid (MAD), offering seamless connections to over 175 destinations across Europe.
Next year, American will also resume nonstop flights to Edinburgh (EDI) and introduce more flights to Athens (ATH) and Milan (MXP). This expanded service reinforces American’s commitment to increasing travel options for customers looking to explore familiar European destinations or new cities across the continent.
