CHICAGO- United Airlines (UA) has unveiled its most extensive winter flight schedule after serving almost 48 million passengers during the summer season of 2024.
The airline will operate approximately 4,600 daily flights during peak winter periods, marking a historic expansion in its service network.
United Winter 2024 Schedule
The expansion encompasses enhanced connectivity at over 140 U.S. airports, with new routes focusing on popular winter destinations, including premier ski resorts and warm-weather locations.
United projects unprecedented winter travel demand, noting particular growth in international routes to Latin America and transatlantic destinations.
The winter schedule launches with United’s first-ever Newark/New York to Marrakesh service on October 24. The airline strengthens its Asian presence by becoming the exclusive U.S. carrier to connect Tokyo/Narita with Cebu, Philippines, starting October 27.
Additional international expansions include new direct flights from Houston to Medellin, Colombia, and Newark/New York to Dominica.

United Airlines’ Record African Expansion
United Airlines launches unprecedented African network expansion, establishing direct Boeing 767-300ER service between Newark/New York and Marrakesh starting October 24.
The airline enhances its African presence with the new Washington Dulles to Dakar service launching in May 2025, positioning United as the leading U.S. carrier in Africa.
Weekly flight frequencies increase to Accra from Washington D.C. in October and to Lagos in December.
Transatlantic Flights
The airline extends its European operations following record summer demand. Service continues to Greece, Spain, Italy, and Portugal, offering maximum seat capacity during winter peak compared to the 2023-2024 periods.
Chicago O’Hare maintains connections to Milan and Rome, while Washington Dulles extends Madrid service through December 2024. Daily Washington/Dulles-Lisbon flights continue until January 2025.
Pacific Adventures
United strengthens its Pacific presence by introducing exclusive U.S. carrier service to Cebu, Philippines, operating daily 737-800 flights from Tokyo/Narita beginning October 27. This route creates one-stop connections from five continental U.S. hubs.
The San Francisco-Seoul-Incheon route doubles to year-round twice-daily service. Los Angeles operations expand with dual daily Hong Kong flights, providing morning and evening options.
The Los Angeles-Shanghai route upgrades to daily Boeing 787-9 service starting October 26.
Latin American Huge 10% Growth
United Airlines amplifies its Latin American presence with a projected 10% network expansion this winter. The airline launches year-round Houston-Medellin service on November 13, complementing existing Bogota routes from Newark/New York and Houston.
United establishes exclusive Northeast U.S.-Dominica connectivity with weekly Boeing 737-700 flights starting February 15.
San Francisco operations expand with year-round SkyWest-operated flights to Monterrey, Mexico, offering up to two daily services. The hub adds seasonal weekly flights to Belize City, strengthening United’s Central American network.
Caribbean service enhancements include the early launch of weekly Boeing 737-900ER flights between Newark/New York and St. Kitts in November. The Newark/New York-Bermuda route transitions to year-round service. Daily flights connect Newark/New York to Port of Spain during peak holiday and Carnival periods.
The airline intensifies connectivity from major U.S. hubs. Chicago, Houston, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles gained enhanced service to Buenos Aires, Guatemala City, Morelia, San Juan, and San Salvador.
United Domestic Winter Schedule
United Airlines launches its largest domestic schedule from January to March, increasing service across 140 airports nationwide. Western destinations receive 13% more seat capacity, particularly enhancing connectivity to Phoenix, Palm Springs, and San Diego.
The airline introduces direct Washington/Dulles connections to Salt Lake City and Palm Springs starting December 19.
Florida operations expand with 20 additional hub departures to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Palm Beach.
Cleveland regains nonstop service to Cancun and Florida destinations, including Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, and Fort Myers.
Winter Ski Destinations
United dominates winter ski market access, operating triple the average daily flights compared to competitors across 11 ski destinations in 2024. Premium service upgrades include SkyWest-operated Embraer E175 aircraft deployment to Aspen and Bishop/Mammoth routes.
New seasonal routes enhance ski destination accessibility. Washington/Dulles gains weekend service to Bozeman, complemented by additional Newark/New York-Bozeman flights. Chicago connects to Gunnison/Crested Butte with weekend service in February and March. Los Angeles adds Kalispell service starting February.
Service frequency increases target high-demand routes. Newark/New York doubles daily flights to Jackson Hole from December through March. Los Angeles maintains daily Montrose/Telluride service during the peak holiday season.
Los Angeles and San Francisco offer twice-daily Sun Valley flights during peak periods. Denver-Bishop/Mammoth service extends through April with twice-weekly flights.
