The update, filed during the weekend of September 7, 2024, covers the period from March 29 to October 9, 2025, based on OAG schedules as of September 8, 2024, Aeroroutes reported.
New Schedule
The airline introduces new routes and resumes previously discontinued services across multiple destinations. Here’s a breakdown of the key changes:
Charlotte to Athens: American Airlines will operate daily flights from June 5 to September 1, 2025, using a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. Flight AA326 departs Charlotte at 19:00, arriving in Athens at 12:20 the next day. The return flight, AA325, leaves Athens at 12:00 and lands in Charlotte at 16:30.
Chicago O’Hare to Madrid: Starting March 30, 2025, the airline will offer daily service on this route using a Boeing 787-8. Flight AA126 takes off from Chicago at 22:15, reaching Madrid at 13:20 the following day. The return flight, AA125, departs Madrid at 16:35 and arrives in Chicago at 18:50.
Miami to Rome Fiumicino: From July 5 to September 1, 2025, American Airlines will operate daily flights on this route using a Boeing 777-200ER. Flight AA052 leaves Miami at 19:35 and lands in Rome at 11:55 the next day. The return flight, AA053, departs Rome at 13:50 and arrives in Miami at 19:25.
Philadelphia to Edinburgh: American Airlines revives this route from May 23 to October 4, 2025, with daily flights on a Boeing 787-8. This service was last operated until October 2019. Flight AA278 departs Philadelphia at 19:05, arriving in Edinburgh at 07:00 the next day. The return flight, AA279, leaves Edinburgh at 11:35 and reaches Philadelphia at 14:00.
Philadelphia to Milan Malpensa: The airline reintroduces this route starting May 23, 2025, with daily flights on a Boeing 787-8. US Airways last served this route until September 2009. Flight AA298 takes off from Philadelphia at 21:15, landing in Milan at 11:20 the following day. The return flight, AA299, departs Milan at 13:35 and arrives in Philadelphia at 16:40.
Charlotte to London Heathrow: Effective March 30, 2025, American Airlines upgrades one of its three daily flights (AA730/733) to a Boeing 777-300ER, replacing the previously used 777-200ER. The route now features two daily 777-200ER flights and one daily 777-300ER service.
