AMSTERDAM- A tragic incident occurred at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS), where a person was killed after being drawn into the engine of a departing KLM Cityhopper Embraer E190, registered as PH-EZL.
The Amsterdam Airport issued a statement saying, “Today there was a terrible incident involving a person ending up in an airplane engine. Our thoughts are with the relatives, and we are providing support to the passengers and colleagues who witnessed this. The Royal Military Police is currently investigating.”
Person Died After Sucked in KLM E190 Engine
The Dutch Safety Board is dispatching three investigators to the scene to conduct their investigation.
KLM Airlines also released a statement: “A fatal incident occurred at Schiphol today, where a person ended up in a running aircraft engine, resulting in their death. The flight involved was KL1341, bound for Billund. We are currently assisting the passengers and employees who witnessed the incident. The circumstances are under investigation, and for further information, we refer you to the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee.”
