IRELAND- Today, on April 15th, Ryanair (FR), Europe’s leading airline, has introduced its new pilot training initiative, the Future Flyer Academy, in collaboration with the esteemed Atlantic Flight Training Academy (AFTA) based in Ireland.
Over the next four years, this program will welcome over 400 aspiring pilots into the airline group as Second Officers.
Ryanair Future Flyer Academy
Ryanair’s Future Flyer Academy offers aspiring pilots a comprehensive pathway to launching their careers in commercial aviation. Through a blend of classroom instruction, simulator sessions, and hands-on training, participants are equipped with the skills needed to begin their journey as Second Officers with Europe’s largest airline group.
This initiative aligns with Ryanair’s ambitious growth plans, aiming to transport over 300 million passengers annually by 2034, operating a fleet of 800 aircraft.
For years, AFTA has been renowned for its rigorous pilot training programs, preparing individuals to undertake Type Rating courses for piloting Ryanair’s Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 aircraft.
With the inception of Ryanair’s Future Flyer Academy, this foundational training is integrated with Type Rating certification, expediting the progression of pilot training.
Additionally, Ryanair pledges employment opportunities for program graduates, offering competitive benefits such as lucrative earnings potential, access to the Route-to-Command program for accelerated promotion to Captain within four years, industry-leading rostering schedules (with fixed 5 days on, 4 days off), a wide range of base locations across their network of 95 bases, and the chance to fly on one of Europe’s youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets, boasting an average of 65g CO2 per passenger/km in March.
