ISLAMABAD- On March 15, during flight PK-781, a Pakistan International Airlines (PK) cabin crew member unintentionally flew from Islamabad to Toronto without her passport.
She had forgotten her passport and instead boarded the aircraft with general declaration documents. Upon arrival in Toronto, Canadian authorities imposed a fine of 200 Canadian dollars on the air hostess, who remains unnamed by the airline.
PIA Air Hostess Fined
According to the report, a PIA air hostess traveled from Islamabad to Toronto without her passport. Due to the oversight, she incurred a 200 Canadian dollar fine from Canadian authorities upon landing.
The incident was confirmed by a PIA spokesperson, who disclosed that the crew member had inadvertently left her passport at Karachi airport. Dismissing rumors of seeking political asylum in Canada, the spokesperson said she would return to Pakistan on flight PK-782.
This occurrence has sparked concerns amid recent instances of PIA flight attendants disappearing in Canada. Over ten flight attendants have gone missing after they arrived in Canada in recent weeks.
These incidents have drawn attention to the national flag carrier, prompting scrutiny regarding immigration-related challenges airlines face.
