KOCHI- Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has unveiled its summer schedule, effective from March 31 to October 26, 2024, showcasing a noteworthy increase in weekly operations.
The schedule boasts a total of 1,628 weekly operations, surpassing the 1,330 operations in the ongoing winter schedule. Additional domestic services to Agatti, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru have been incorporated into the summer schedule to meet the growing passenger demand.
Air India Kochi-London Flight
Air India (AI), currently operating flights to London-Gatwick Airport (LGW) every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, will expand its operations with an additional weekly flight to cater to increased demand.
The announced schedule encompasses 29 airlines, with 26 operating internationally. IndiGo (6E) leads with 49 weekly departures to international destinations, closely followed by Air India Express with 41 weekly departure operations.
Notably, there will be 66 weekly departures to Abu Dhabi alone, making it the top destination. Doha secures the second position with 46 operations, while Dubai follows closely with 45 operations.
Strengthening International Network
Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has received positive feedback for its endeavors to enhance services on busy routes and introduce regional routes.
The recent tourism developments in Lakshadweep have contributed to an increased interest in air travel. In the current ongoing winter schedule, there are 10 weekly departure flights to Agatti, all operated by Alliance Air. This number is set to increase to 16 as Indigo initiates daily flights to Agatti.
S Suhas, the managing director of CIAL, highlighted the company’s proactive efforts to adapt and innovate in response to the dynamic landscape of the Indian aviation sector. Notably, CIAL stands out as the only airport in Kerala, handling 10 million passengers in a calendar year, and ranks as the fourth-largest airport in the country regarding international traffic.
Suhas emphasized that CIAL is actively preparing and formulating strategies to accommodate this growth, including the development of new route maps for the future.
The evident rise in the number of domestic flight services and the scheduled commencement of additional services to numerous Gulf cities underscore CIAL’s commitment to meeting the evolving demands of the aviation industry.
IndiGo leads the rankings with 49 weekly departures to international destinations, while Air India Express is set to conduct 41 departure operations weekly. A notable 66 weekly departures are scheduled exclusively for Abu Dhabi.
