ABU DHABI- Etihad Airways (EY), the UAE’s national airline, is commemorating the renaming of its home airport (Abu Dhabi International Airport) to Zayed International Airport (AUH).
This change follows the inauguration of Terminal A in November 2023, representing the airline’s advanced new terminal facility.
Etihad Celebrates Zayed International
Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, expressed pride in their home, Abu Dhabi, and acknowledged the visionary role of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
In celebration of this significant event, Etihad Airways has introduced a special offer for travelers departing from Abu Dhabi to specific destinations.
The exclusive offer is valid from February 9 to 14, 2024, for travelers with plans between February 19 and June 15, 2024.
Passengers heading to Bangkok have the opportunity to secure special fares, commencing at AED 2,490 in Economy class and AED 7,990 in Etihad’s renowned Business class. For those saying ‘konnichiwa’ to Osaka, fares start from AED 4,490 in Economy and AED 14,990 in Business.
As Etihad inaugurates flights to its new destination, Boston, on March 31, travelers can be among the first to experience the vibrant US city with attractive sale fares starting from AED 3,490.
For European explorations, bookings to Copenhagen, Munich, and Lisbon are available, with fares starting at AED 2,490 in Economy and AED 11,990 in Business.
Festive Weekend
Throughout the festive weekend, visitors to Zayed International Airport will receive a warm reception, complete with gifts, special activities, and live entertainment.
The Terminal features dedicated check-in counters for Etihad’s Economy passengers, with designated areas for families and exclusive zones for those traveling in Business and First classes, offering an expedited, premium experience. Additionally, advanced biometric self-bag drop facilities are provided for all passengers seeking a quicker check-in process.
Access to Etihad’s premium Business and First class Lounges is granted to travelers in Etihad’s The Residence, First and Business classes, as well as Etihad Guest members with qualifying tier status.
Economy passengers desiring access to the exclusive lounge space can purchase it, subject to availability.
