Rapid Expansion Amid Ram Mandir
Last week, an airport official announced the commencement of regular flights at Ayodhya’s Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, with plans for an increase in overall flight operations.
The inauguration of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya took place on December 30, following the inauguration of the Ayodhya Railway Station, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the ceremonies.
The development of Ayodhya Airport was undertaken by the Airports Authority of India, following a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Government of Uttar Pradesh in April of the preceding year. The state-of-the-art airport has been constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 1450 crore.
Featuring a terminal building covering an area of 6,500 square meters, the airport is designed to cater to approximately 10 lakh passengers annually.
The architectural facade of the terminal mirrors the temple design anticipated for the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Additionally, the terminal’s interiors showcase local art, paintings, and murals depicting the life of Prabhu Shri Ram.
