NAGPUR– IndiGo (6E) Airlines flight undergoes emergency landing in Nagpur (NAG) following a passenger’s chest pain; the individual was promptly hospitalized, with the flight resuming its journey post medical intervention.
The situation transpired when a 26-year-old passenger named Mohd Ahmed Ansari encountered abrupt chest pain during the course of the flight.
Indigo Emergency Landing
During its journey from Pune to Lucknow, an IndiGo flight with the designation 6E338 was necessitated to undergo an emergency landing at Nagpur Airport on Saturday.
The situation transpired when Mohd Ahmed Ansari, a 26-year-old passenger, encountered abrupt chest pain while in mid-flight. In response to this medical emergency, the flight was redirected to Nagpur and accomplished a successful landing at 4:30 am.
According to local airport authorities, Ansari was swiftly conveyed to KIMS Kingsway Hospital, where he is presently undergoing medical treatment. Aejaz Shami, the deputy general manager (Communication) at the hospital, conveyed assurance that the patient is now in stable condition and under observation.
Abid Ruhi, the director of the local airport, affirmed the unplanned landing, attributing it to the passenger’s severe ailment. Following an hour of medical attention, the flight resumed its journey to Lucknow.
The prompt response and coordination between the airline and local authorities ensured that the passenger received timely medical assistance, enabling the safe continuation of the flight.
Similar Incident
Last year, in September 2023, an IndiGo flight from Rajkot (RAJ) to Mumbai (BOM) made an Emergency landing at Ahmedabad (AMD) due to technical issues.
The aircraft involved in the incident is Airbus A320neo, registered as VT-ITX. Further, it is 6.4 years old and was earlier designated to be delivered to Qatar Airways (QR).
As reported by DeshGujarat, there were 175 passengers onboard the flight. Subsequently, many passengers expressed concern due to the technical snag experienced during takeoff.

IndiGo flight 6E5222 took off from Rajkot (RAJ) with a one-hour delay at around 8:18 PM IST. During takeoff, the flight crew noticed some issues. After 10 minutes, they decided to divert to Ahmedabad (AMD).
At around 8:57 PM, it aligned itself with the runway but did a go-around. Usually, this happens when there is an issue with landing gear, and to evaluate the exterior damage, they make low flypasts or go around. ATC then observe the damage and notified the pilot, and based on this, they landed back again.
