NEW YORK- JetBlue (B6) has officially commenced operations between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Tallahassee International Airport (TLH), marking the inaugural arrival in Tallahassee, Florida earlier today.
The new intrastate service by JetBlue, operating daily, brings the airline’s acclaimed service, affordable fares, and enhanced travel choices to a route with limited competition.

JetBlue, already serving various Florida cities including Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Miami, West Palm Beach, Key West, Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Sarasota/Bradenton, and Tampa, expands its presence in the state.
The addition of Tallahassee to its network means JetBlue now connects Fort Lauderdale to over 40 destinations within Florida.
United States Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz expressed satisfaction with the increased travel options, stating,
“I am very pleased to see additional commercial options for Floridians to travel between South Florida and our state capital. I hope this is only the beginning of connecting all parts of our state to Florida’s critical seat of government and the rest of the region through the heart of South Florida here at FLL.”
United States Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz
Mark Gale, CEO/Director of Aviation at FLL, applauded JetBlue’s launch of nonstop service to Tallahassee, recognizing the demand for more flight choices on this route.
He expressed anticipation for continued collaboration with JetBlue, highlighting the positive start to 2024 and looking forward to the airline’s potential future growth at FLL.
Forging a Connection Between South Florida and the State Capital
Ensuring convenient access to Tallahassee is imperative, given its pivotal role as the capital of Florida and its status as a hub for major universities. However, its considerable distance from South Florida makes driving a less-than-ideal option.
JetBlue’s daily service addresses this challenge, providing an affordable and comfortable travel alternative for individuals commuting between South Florida and Tallahassee, whether for business or educational purposes.
Additionally, this service opens up possibilities for both leisure and business travelers departing from Tallahassee, allowing them to seamlessly connect in Fort Lauderdale to reach various other JetBlue destinations.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Florida State Representative Chip LaMarca remarked,
“I am extremely pleased that Broward residents now have an additional choice to journey to our State Capital without the need to initiate travel from another county or venture to another state first. With JetBlue, those of us representing Broward can reach Tallahassee at a reasonable cost, eliminating the need for a lengthy seven-hour drive.”
Florida State Representative Chip LaMarca
Tallahassee International Airport, under the ownership and operation of the City of Tallahassee, is committed to providing a superior flying experience characterized by speed, friendliness, and convenience.
The City’s targeted investments have transformed Tallahassee International Airport into a significant economic catalyst in the North Florida region.
With the introduction of new air service and ongoing major infrastructure projects, including the International Processing Facility, TLH is poised to serve one million passengers in 2024.
City of Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey expressed his excitement, stating,
“I’m delighted to commemorate the initiation of JetBlue’s direct, daily service between Florida’s capital city and Fort Lauderdale. We eagerly anticipate extending a warm welcome to passengers embracing this new air service option at Tallahassee International Airport. Intra-state travel plays a pivotal role in our economy, and our airport’s collaboration with JetBlue provides a convenient link to and from South Florida that will benefit residents and visitors alike.”
