ATLANTA, TEL AVIV- Delta Air Lines (DL) and EL AL Israel Airlines (LY) have initiated a comprehensive codeshare agreement, effective from December 18, 2023, for travel starting on January 1, 2024.
This collaboration aims to enhance connectivity options for passengers traveling between the Americas and Tel Aviv. The agreement encompasses reciprocal codeshare benefits and frequent flyer perks, allowing travelers to earn and redeem SkyMiles or Matmid points across both carriers.
Delta and EL AL Israel Codeshare
For Delta customers departing from North America, the partnership enables them to utilize EL AL’s nonstop services from key locations such as New York-JFK, New York-Newark, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale to Tel Aviv.
In return, EL AL’s code will be applied to Delta’s non-stop flights to Tel Aviv (once they are reinstated). Additionally, EL AL’s code will be extended to cover up to 280 same-day connections via Delta’s U.S. gateways in New York-JFK, Boston, and Los Angeles, offering access to various destinations, including Atlanta, Washington DC, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Seattle, Dallas, and Toronto.

SkyMiles and Matmid Benefits
Effective January 15, both Delta and EL AL customers can earn and redeem miles through each other’s services on Delta’s SkyMiles and EL AL’s Matmid frequent flyer programs.
Additionally, both airlines will provide reciprocal benefits to their top-tier frequent flyer members, including preferred seat access, priority check-in and boarding, additional baggage allowance, and lounge access where applicable.
