The certification signifies the MRO’s capability to safely and effectively perform maintenance tasks while adhering to all airworthiness requirements.
S.K. Dash, Chief Technical Officer at Air India, expressed, “This approval will further motivate us to ensure the smooth operation of our fleet, including the A350, maintaining the highest technical dispatch reliability.”
Successful Completion of Training
Air India has achieved the milestone of becoming the first Indian airline to incorporate the technologically advanced A350 into its operational fleet.
The engineering team at Air India has been actively preparing for the integration of the A350 aircraft, focusing on establishing comprehensive checks, maintenance, and repair capabilities within Air India’s facilities.
To enhance their proficiency in handling the A350, engineering teams from Air India, Vistara, and AIX Connect have successfully completed training sessions at the Airbus centre in Toulouse.
The training encompassed specialized courses in Structure Assessment and Engine Run-Up, aiming to augment the team’s skills in managing the intricacies of the A350.
Senior executives from the Engineering department have undergone the A350 General Familiarization Course, ensuring a thorough understanding of the aircraft’s features and functionalities.
In addition to engineers, technicians have received extensive training in General Familiarization, contributing to the seamless servicing and operation of the A350 aircraft.
SIAEC Air India Collab
In collaboration with SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), Air India has taken proactive measures to provide its aircraft engineers with hands-on experience in scheduled maintenance activities, turn-around inspections, and other essential orientations.
This immersive approach ensures that the engineering team gains practical exposure to meet the requirements of the A350 aircraft before it becomes a part of the fleet.
Additionally, engineers have actively participated in workshops dedicated to the A350, further enhancing their comprehensive familiarity with the aircraft.
