DALLAS- Embark on your summer vacation plans in advance with American Airlines (AA) as they unveil an unprecedented schedule at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) for the summer of 2024.
American is set to provide a record-breaking number of seats departing from DFW, surpassing any previous figures in the airline’s history with over 850 daily departures.
American Airlines Dallas Record Flights
This expanded service includes flights to new cities and increased frequencies to more than 35 destinations, solidifying American’s DFW hub as the prime connection point for travelers across the nation and around the globe.
Jim Moses, Senior Vice President of DFW Hub Operations at American, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming summer schedule, stating,
“We’re thrilled to offer more seats than ever before to our local and connecting customers at DFW next summer. Following our team’s strong operational performance this year and the airline’s continued investments in its largest hub, we are prepared and excited to operate this robust schedule.”
Establishing Milestones in Texas
American Airlines holds the distinction of being the largest airline in Texas, boasting 55% more flights and 30% more seats departing from DFW compared to the next-largest competitor’s hub in the state.
The airline facilitates connections to over 230 destinations from DFW, marking the highest number of destinations served from a single hub in Texas.
In addition, American Airlines surpasses other carriers by offering flights from more Texas cities, with over 65% more cities served compared to the next-closest competitor and nearly double the number of flights.
DFW stands out as the sole airline hub in Texas, providing premium cabins on every flight. Since May 2023, every nonstop flight to any destination from DFW on American Airlines has offered customers the flexibility to choose between at least two classes of service throughout their entire travel experience.
Expanded Domestic Connectivity
In the upcoming summer season, American Airlines’ DFW hub will present customers with over 10,000 connection opportunities worldwide.
The airline is set to enhance its flight offerings, providing additional flights and seats to sought-after destinations across the country offering customers more options to explore new locations or connect with friends and family.
American Airlines will initiate daily service between DFW and Redmond, Oregon (RDM), marking the airline’s third nonstop destination in Oregon from DFW, joining Portland (PDX) and Eugene (EUG).
On a national scale, American will augment services to cater to customer demand for popular outdoor destinations. This includes increased seat availability in Santa Rosa, California (STS) and Traverse City, Michigan (TVC). Additionally, the airline will resume summer service to St. George, Utah (SGU) while maintaining daily service to Albany, New York (ALB).
International Flight Expansion
Catering to customers interested in international travel, American Airlines plans to expand its services to well-loved global destinations.
This entails the introduction of a new daily flight to Barcelona, Spain (BCN) commencing in June, and the initiation of twice-daily service to Tulum, Mexico (TQO) beginning in March.
In the upcoming summer season, American Airlines aims to provide nonstop international service from DFW to 55 destinations across 26 countries worldwide.
Heavy Investment in Infrastructure at DFW
American Airlines inaugurated a cutting-edge catering facility to serve its DFW hub earlier this year. Spanning 214,000 square feet, this facility stands as the largest airline catering kitchen in the country, exceeding three times the size of a football field.
The kitchen’s advanced design facilitates more efficient flight catering, elevating the airline’s capacity to provide customers with a memorable dining experience onboard. During peak travel seasons, the facility prepares nearly 15,000 fresh meals daily.
In conjunction with this, a new 10-year Use and Lease Agreement with the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport was finalized, positioning American Airlines for continued growth at its primary hub in the years to come.
This agreement encompasses nearly $5 billion in pre-approved capital investments, covering gate expansions at Terminals A and C, the construction of a new Terminal F, and a significant redesign of Terminal C, which boasts the highest number of daily departures at DFW.
These strategic investments are poised to furnish additional gates, accommodating long-term growth and enabling American Airlines to extend operations within existing terminals. This expansion aims to optimize operational capabilities and enhance the overall experience for customers
