DELHI- Tata-owned Indian FSC Air India (AI) has initiated a time-limited promotion, the #FlyAirIndiaSale, offering highly attractive fares for all routes between India and the United States (USA) in both Economy Class and Premium Economy Class (available on select U.S. routes).
Economy Class fares, which include all fees, start at INR 42,999 for one-way travel and INR 52,999 for return trips.
Air India Special Fares for USA Flights
Premium Economy fares, also inclusive of all charges, begin at INR 79,999 for one-way travel and INR 1,09,999 for return journeys.
Air India’s Premium Economy class is currently available to passengers on specific routes: Bengaluru-San Francisco, Mumbai-San Francisco, and Mumbai-New York.
This sale is open for bookings for a brief five-day window, from October 1st to October 5th, 2023, with travel valid from October 1st to December 15th, 2023.
Air India operates 47 non-stop flights each week from Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai to five American cities: New York, Newark (New Jersey), Washington DC, Chicago, and San Francisco.
The discounted fares are also applicable for passengers from various other Indian cities, enabling them to access the U.S. with one-stop flights via Delhi, Bengaluru, or Mumbai. This includes travelers from cities like Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, and more.
Bookings for this sale are accessible through all available channels, including Air India’s website (www.airindia.com), iOS and Android mobile apps, and authorized travel agents. It’s important to note that the seats available for this sale are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fares may differ slightly depending on the city of departure due to applicable exchange rates and taxes.
AI Gets 777 from California
Air India (AI) takes the delivery of the second Boeing 777, formerly operated by Etihad Airways (EY).
The aircraft is taken on lease from United States (USA) based, Altavair AirFinance. Further, the aircraft has registration VT-AEQ and is powered by two GE Aerospace GE90 engines.
Now, let us establish a flight timeline with the help of data from FlightRadar24 (FR24).
According to FR24, the special ferry flight of Boeing 777-300ER, registered as VT-AEQ for Air India, took off on 26 September at around 8:06 PM UTC from San Bernardino (SBD). The flight remained airborne for almost 17 hours and 45 minutes, and it covered a distance of 12,907 Kilometers.
The flight landed safely at Delhi Airport (DEL) India at around 1:51 PM UTC. This is one of the longest flights by Air India, and flying nonstop for 17 Hrs and 45 Mins can be a record flight.
With the delivery of VT-AEQ, the airline now has a fleet of 22 Boeing 777s. This includes 13 Boeing 777-300ERs and 8 777-200s.
Overall, according to planespotters.net, the total fleet of Air India is 121 and is set to expand rapidly with new leases and mega orders for 470 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing.
