CHICAGO- United Airlines (UA) has made additional changes to its operational aircraft for the San Francisco-Papeete route, as reflected in the September 15, 2023 schedule update.
The latest adjustment entails the utilization of the 243-seat Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft from February 15, 2024, until March 30, 2024, replacing the previously scheduled 257-seat -9 aircraft. This change reduced 20 seats in the Business Class cabin for each flight to Tahiti, reports Aeroroutes.

In summary, the Boeing 787-8 aircraft is now scheduled to operate during the following periods: September 29, 2023, to November 27, 2023, and February 15, 2024, to March 30, 2024.
The schedule provided below is effective from February 15, 2024, to March 8, 2024:
- UA115 departs from SFO at 11:55 AM, arriving at PPT at 6:40 PM, operated by a Boeing 787-8 on Saturdays.
- UA115 departs from SFO at 1:30 PM and arrives at PPT at 8:15 PM, operated by a Boeing 787-8 on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
- The UA114 departed from PPT at 8:40 PM, arriving at SFO at 6:50 AM the following day, operated by a Boeing 787-8 on Saturdays.
- UA114 departed from PPT at 10:40 PM, arriving at SFO at 8:50 AM the following day, operated by a Boeing 787-8 on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Ramping Up Florida Capacity and New Flight
The airline plan is as follows:
- Key West (EYW) will be designated as a new mainline station, featuring the addition of Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
- Commencing on November 28, a Boeing 737 service from Newark (EWR) will be introduced on one of the two daily flights.
- Starting December 21, when the services from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) resume, they will be operated by Boeing 737 aircraft, replacing the previous E170 aircraft.
Further, United Airlines is considering the addition of a second daily flight between Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), scheduled tentatively for January.
The flights are initially planned to be operated using E170 aircraft. But it’s important to note that these plans are subject to potential changes.
