LAS VEGAS- Avelo Airlines (XP) has officially inaugurated its sixth US base at Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). This expansion marks Avelo’s second base on the West Coast.
It represents the airline’s ongoing commitment to providing affordable, convenient, and reliable air travel to underserved and unserved communities across the United States.
Avelo Las Vegas Base
Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Avelo Airlines, Andrew Levy, expressed his excitement about the new base in Las Vegas, emphasizing the exclusive nonstop access it will provide to Vegas for customers from six communities, with plans for further expansion in the future.
Levy noted the diverse appeal of Las Vegas as a destination and highlighted how Avelo’s focus on affordability, convenience, and reliability will make traveling to this popular city more accessible.
He also mentioned the positive impact of the new flights, destinations, and job opportunities created by the new base, benefiting Las Vegas, Avelo, and, most importantly, their valued customers.
For Andrew Levy, this new base in Las Vegas holds personal significance, as he was a co-founder and served as the longtime president of Allegiant Air, a Las Vegas-based airline.
During his 14-year tenure with Allegiant, he played a pivotal role in establishing one of the most successful airlines in the United States.
At Avelo, Levy is joined by other former leaders from Allegiant, including Chief Operating Officer Greg Baden, who presided over today’s opening ceremony at LAS.
Rosemary Vassiliadis, Director of Aviation for Clark County, expressed her enthusiasm for Avelo Airlines’ expansion into Harry Reid International Airport, emphasizing its advantages to travelers and the local community.
She highlighted Las Vegas as a great destination and a wonderful place to reside. Vassiliadis welcomed Avelo’s decision to establish Las Vegas as a West Coast base, creating employment opportunities and benefiting the community.

Robust Connectivity

The launch of Avelo’s new base in LAS coincides with the introduction of its six new destinations.
At LAS, Avelo will initially station a Boeing Next-Generation (NG) 737-700, capable of accommodating 147 passengers.
Since commencing service in The Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World in October 2021, Avelo has achieved an impressive 99.34% completion factor, having canceled less than 1% of its LAS flights over the past 11 months.
In 2023, Avelo ranks #1 for completion factor year-to-date and #2 in the U.S. for on-time performance, emphasizing its commitment to providing travelers with simplicity, convenience, and reliability.
Avelo intends to recruit LAS-based Crewmembers, encompassing roles such as pilots, flight attendants, aircraft maintenance technicians, and supervisors. Approximately 50 LAS-based Crewmembers have already been hired, with more career opportunities in the pipeline.
A second 737 may be added in 2024, enabling further destinations and creating more LAS-based job openings.
As a new airline, Avelo offers an attractive prospect for individuals at various stages of their careers.
