By unveiling its revitalized network, Etihad is embarking on a fresh chapter of expansion and connectivity, aiming to deliver uninterrupted travel experiences, improved linkages, and increased flexibility across its extensive global network.
Etihad New Destinations for Winter Schedule
This new network strategy aims to support the growth of visitors to Abu Dhabi (AUH) and provide travelers with greater choices by:
- Introducing new destinations: Elevating the capacity of popular international destinations, immersing travelers in diverse cultures, and attracting more visitors to Abu Dhabi directly.
- Enhancing travel options: Offering passengers improved flexibility in travel plans by providing multiple departure times that ensure seamless and stress-free journeys.
- Increasing flight frequencies to key global markets: In line with Abu Dhabi’s economic and tourism growth, Etihad is boosting flight frequencies to pivotal international destinations, enhancing accessibility and solidifying Abu Dhabi’s role as a global travel hub.
The revised flight schedules have been strategically set to depart from Abu Dhabi at 2 pm, allowing travelers and visitors to enjoy Abu Dhabi’s hotels and attractions until their departure.
This approach enhances the overall travel experience while maximizing the opportunity to explore Abu Dhabi’s attractions.

Enhancements to the Network
Etihad’s network enhancements have already gained momentum with the introduction of nine new destinations this year, including Malaga, Mykonos, Lisbon, Kolkata, St Petersburg, Dusseldorf, Copenhagen, Osaka, and Boston.
Furthermore, the airline has unveiled upcoming routes to the Indian Subcontinent, specifically Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, set to commence in January 2024.
These additions underscore Etihad’s unwavering commitment to expanding connectivity and delivering extensive travel choices worldwide.
In alignment with these developments, Etihad has recently implemented several strategic adjustments and frequency increases within its network to amplify travel possibilities and seamless connections.
Notable highlights comprise:
Optimized Departure Times: By modifying departure times for European and Asian destinations, Etihad has significantly heightened passenger convenience.
Enhanced Frequencies: The augmented frequencies to destinations such as Chennai (MAA), Islamabad (ISB), Kochi (COK), Madrid (MAD), Milan (MXP), Munich (MUC), Rome (FCO), and Phuket (HKT) serve to expand traveler options and enhance overall connectivity.
Cairo (CAI): From 1st January, an extra 5 weekly flights will establish triple daily operations between Abu Dhabi and Cairo, bolstering the bond between the two cities.
Colombo (CMB): Starting from 1st December with 3 flights and increasing to 4 flights from 1st January, Colombo will experience 7 direct flights per week, offering enhanced travel alternatives.
Maldives (MLE): Commencing 1st December with 3 flights, followed by 4 flights from 1st January, the Maldives will benefit from an additional 7 weekly flights.
