CAGAYAN- The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has confirmed that a Cessna 152 plane carrying two individuals on its way from Laoag in Ilocos Norte to Tuguegarao in Cagayan has gone missing.
According to CAAP, they received an “INCERFA” message, indicating uncertainty about the safety of the aircraft and its passengers, from Tuguegarao flight service station (FSS) at 2:37 p.m. on Tuesday.
Cessna Plane Goes Missing
The Tuguegarao Flight Service Station (FSS) collaborated with aviation authorities in Cauayan, Vigan, and Lallo for a search operation, but no information regarding the whereabouts of the Cessna-152 with call sign RPC88598 was obtained.
In the afternoon, a rescue helicopter conducted a search. However, it had to be suspended due to adverse weather conditions.
As stated by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the search and rescue efforts are scheduled to resume tomorrow morning.
To comply with the Data Privacy Act, CAAP has mentioned to CNN that the details of the individuals on board cannot be disclosed at this time.
