SAN FRANCISCO- Tata Air India (AI) dedicated ferry flight AI173D carrying stranded 232 passengers from Magadan Airport (GDX) in Russia has landed in San Francisco (SFO).
The Indian carrier deployed its Boeing 777-200 LR. Further, the aircraft has the registration VT-ALF and is one of the most tracked flights on various flight tracking sites.
Air India Ferry flight lands in San Francisco
According to flight radar 24, the aircraft has just landed at SFO at 7:07 AM UTC. The aircraft took off from Mumbai Airport on June 7 and made a stop at Magadan; there, it carried the stranded passenger.
Subsequently, the flight took off from Magadan (GDX), Russia, at 11:26 PM UTC. After being airborne for almost seven hours and 20 minutes, it arrived in SFO.
The passengers will be provided with necessary medical assistance and other essential care.

The special flight took off from Mumbai Airport (BOM) on Jun 7. Subsequently, after being airborne for more than Nine hours, it landed at GDX.
According to Flight Radar 24, the Air India AI195 operating Boeing 777 with Registration VT-ALF departed from BOM at 9:35 AM UTC due to a delay.
As mentioned earlier, after nine hours, it finally made touched down at Russia’s GDX at 7:13 PM UTC. The aircraft will stay on the ground for a couple of hours or more until all stranded passengers get onboard.
The situation arrived due to an AI173 flight from Delhi (DEL) to San Francisco (SFO) over Russian airspace diverted to the Magadan Airport in Russia over a suspected Engine problem.
