MUMBAI – India’s largest airline, IndiGo (6E), is all set to receive the first fully painted Boeing 777 in its blue color scheme. The airline will lease another Boeing 777 from Turkish Airlines (TK).
Currently, the Gurgaon-based carrier operates a wet-leased Boeing 777 on Delhi (DEL)– Istanbul (IST) route. The move so far has been a success for 6E, and with more such jets, it looks to expand its presence beyond the vicinity of Asia.
Earlier this year, Peter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, made a statement regarding their plans to go international. He stated that they would focus on African and European markets as well as penetrate deeper into East Asian destinations.
