According to the airport authorities, a new flight service would be started from the international airport here to Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
Indigo’s new daily service will begin on June 16, according to the company.
"The inbound sector flight (6E-5301) leaves the domestic terminal in Thiruvananthapuram at 5 a.m. and arrives in Ahmedabad at 9.10 a.m. via Mumbai. The return flight (6E-5302) leaves Ahmedabad at 5.25 p.m. and lands at 9.35 p.m. in Thiruvananthapuram "According to a press release from the airport authority.
Previously, customers travelling between Thiruvananthapuram and Ahmedabad had to take two flights.
“Through the introduction of the new service, travel time will be reduced from 6 hours to 4 hours,” according to the press statement.
