Two months after selling the national carrier, the govt will begin the process of selling three former Air India companies as well as real estate, including the landmark Air India headquarters in Mumbai.
"The engineering and ground handling subsidiaries will be sold jointly, and this should happen soon. After that, Alliance Air will be sold, as will all of its real estate holdings, over a period of time ".
According to the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The govt sold Air India, Air India Express, and a 50% share in ground handling subsidiary Air India Singapore Airport Terminal Services to the Tata Group.
Late in January, these were handed over to the new owners.
The company’s other assets, including engineering subsidiary AI Engineering Services, ground-handling unit AI Air Transport Services, and domestic carrier Alliance Air, as well as real estate, including the Air India Building in Mumbai’s Nariman Point, are now held by AI Asset Holdings Ltd, a government-owned company (AIAHL).
For the sale of these assets, EY is serving as the transaction adviser.
