SAN FRANCISCO- United Airlines (UA) will deploy the Boeing 777-200ER instead of the 787 Dreamliner on the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Brisbane Airport (BNE) route from October 26, 2024.
The airline operates 5x weekly flights between San Francisco known for Silicon Valley and Brisbane, a Popular tourist city.
United Replaces 787 with 777-200ER
Starting October 26, 2024, United Airlines will deploy the SFO-BNE route with a 276-seater Boeing 777-200ER instead of 257-seater 787-9 Dreamliners.
Despite being a replacement, the flight will depart 25 minutes early from SFO and will arrive in BNE at the same time. The return flight will depart 10 minutes late from BNE and will arrive in SFO 20 minutes late. Now here’s the flight schedule:
- The flight UA96 will depart San Francisco at 11:05 PM and will arrive in Brisbane at 6:30 AM.
- The return flight UA97 will depart Brisbane at 10:40 AM and land in SFO at 6:50 AM.

United has a fleet of 64 Boeing 777-200 out of which 45 are 777-200ER variants which United uses to serve long-haul routes. While the remaining 19 serve domestic routes.
The Chicago-based carrier Boeing 777-200ER has multiple seating configurations. The 276-seater 777-200ER has 50 Business Class, 24 Premium Economy, and 202 Economy seats (46 are Economy Plus).
United Airlines Boeing 787-9 is a 257-seater that has 48 Business Class, 21 Premium Economy, and 188 Economy seats (39 are Economy Plus).

United’s current Australian network includes flights from Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO) to Sydney (SYD), Melbourne (MEL), and Brisbane (BNE). The airline also operates a Houston (IAH) to Sydney route.
Brisbane is getting popular and receiving connections with major us carriers launching new flights. American Airlines (AA) will launch direct flights from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on October 26, while Delta Air Lines (DL) will introduce the Los Angeles flights from December 26, 2024.
