What is RTR-A License?

RTR-A Stands for Radio Telephony Restricted (Aeronautical).

R. T. R. (A) is a professional license of an international standard as per the general guidelines given under international radio regulations. In India this license is issued by the Wireless Planning and Co-ordination (WPC) wing of the Department of Telecommunication Govt. of India.

The License is a mandatory requirement for student aspiring for Commercial pilot license (CPL), Aircraft maintenance engineering (AME) course, Flight Dispatcher, etc., to communicate over Radio apparatus while flying or in Aviation environment.

General Description & Syllabus of RTR-A Exam

Examination is conducted in two parts. Part I is a twenty five minutes session, in which a practical test in Regulations and Procedures is given. It is also known as, Transmission. In case a person clears it, he is asked to appear in Part 2. Part 2 is an oral exam in regulation and Procedure and radio principles and practice. It is conducted the Chief Examiner, who is from WPC and one representative from DGCA/AAI.

Part 1 Exam has ATS route charts, transmission techniques, formats of transmission as per AIP (Aeronautical Information Publication), India.

Part 2 Exam has Basic electricity, Radio Navigational Aids, working of transmitter-receiver, modulation, HF-VHF communication, Regulations, flight plan, DGCA CARs etc.

For getting R.T.R-(A) license the candidate have to clear both the exams in one go. If candidate pass in Part 1 but fails in Part 2 they will be declared Fail in the exam and the candidate has to give both the exams Part 1&2 again.

After clearing Radio telephony Restricted (Aeronautical) License examination the candidate has option for obtaining License by paying the prescribed Fee.

The Online R.T.R-(A) classes will be conducted for about 30-45 days, Every day for 2 to 3 Hours.

We are preparing students for Part I and Part II of the R.T.R-(A) Exam & after finishing the classes, students will have a thorough understanding of R.T.R-A Examination, it’s pattern and practical knowledge which will help them in obtaining their R.T.R-(A) license.
