While cruising at 36,000 feet over Turkey, the crew detected a smoke smell onboard, prompting a precautionary diversion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft made an emergency descent and landed safely at <strong>Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB)<\/strong> approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes after departure. Passengers were calmly evacuated, and emergency services met the aircraft upon arrival as a standard safety procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft involved in the incident is an Airbus A320-214, registered as G-EZGX. Further, it is a 6.9-year-old aircraft powered by two CFM-56 engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an official statement, easyJet confirmed the diversion was due to a \u201ctechnical issue\u201d that caused the odor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline arranged hotel accommodations and meals for the affected passengers. The 10.8-year-old Airbus A320 involved was registered as <strong>G-EZWY<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Details regarding the cause of the diversion remain undisclosed. easyJet has not issued a formal explanation, but no injuries or critical events were reported, and the aircraft landed safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stay tuned with us.
