But we all need answers; however, some sources, experts, and media reports claim potential reasons for this deadliest crash in Indian aviation history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crash occurred just 1.5 km from the runway on June 12, 2025, raising urgent questions about the aircraft\u2019s failure to gain altitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the Reasons for Air India Plane Crash?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Air India Flight AI171 departed from Ahmedabad (AMD) at 13:39 IST, destined for London Gatwick (LGW), but crashed within 30 seconds of takeoff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner<\/a> was flown by two highly experienced pilots: Captain Sumeet Sabharwal and First Officer Clive Kundar. The aircraft carried 242 people and nearly 100 tonnes of fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initial theories reported by BBC sources<\/a> suggest the possibility of a rare dual-engine failure. This could have been due to fuel contamination<\/strong>, blocked fuel metering systems, or other mechanical faults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
