The sector directly employs 369,700 people <\/strong>in aviation operations, with additional employment benefits generated through supply chain activities, employee spending, and tourism-related services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Travel Patterns<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

International air traffic accounted for 21% of total origin-destination departures from India in 2023, representing 33.9 million passenger departures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Middle East <\/a>emerged as the largest international market for passenger flows from India. It captures 41% of international traffic, followed by Asia Pacific <\/a>at 28% and Europe at 15%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

India’s international air connectivity index decreased by 4.0% within the Asia Pacific region since 2014, while increasing by 59% in all other regions during the same period, IATA reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
